About

Jeff Nguyen

I’m currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the English Department at Harvard University.

I have a background in classical piano (that explains the blog title), but my interests are decidedly broader. I  specialize in the cultural and intellectual history of the Great and Cold War periods, with a particular focus on modernism in literature, music, and painting. This is my sandbox, a place to build, pat, mold, and raze inchoate thoughts into castles. It’s a place to be wrong. It’s an exercise in style and accessibility, an attempt to place the minor among the major. On occasion, and justifying the title, a musical offering.
